Software Engineer AI - Multiple Levels

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; candidates must be based in or able to work from Vancouver. Hybrid work model with onsite attendance at least 50% of the time for candidates within commuting distance of a hirify.global office.

Salary: CAD 100,000–150,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate secure, scalable, fault-tolerant serverless services on AWS.
• Translate AI and LLM capabilities into production-grade services and support their integration across product teams.
• Build deployment, monitoring, and management pipelines for AI services at scale.
• Own services end to end across architecture, implementation, deployment, observability, and operations.
• Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and product design focused on customer problems.
• Collaborate in an agile environment through pairing, planning, and shared delivery optimization.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work from Vancouver, Canada.
• Professional software engineering experience building web applications in an agile environment.
• Hands-on AWS experience and familiarity with infrastructure as code such as CDK or Terraform.
• Backend experience with RESTful APIs, Node.js/TypeScript or Python, Git, and SQL databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Frontend familiarity with React or Angular, plus experience writing readable, well-tested, secure code using SOLID principles.
• Practical use of AI development tools and understanding of AI/LLM concepts, privacy, security, fairness, and responsible validation.

Nice to have

• AWS CDK, TypeScript, and React experience.
• Microservices, event-driven architecture, CI/CD, and automated testing on AWS.
• Experience deploying AI applications in production and understanding of MLOps, RAG pipelines, semantic search, data drift, or performance monitoring.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
