Software Engineer (Generative AI)

Location: New York, San Francisco, Munich, or London

Salary: $120K–$160K plus equity

What you will do

• Build LLM-powered features end-to-end, including AI-powered search, visualization tools, multimodal LLM interfaces, and intelligent research assistants.
• Handle prompting, latency optimization, and tuning and testing of LLM behavior.
• Develop frontend and backend code, APIs, and databases for product features.
• Build an in-house LLM stack covering API integration, testing, observability, caching, fine-tuning infrastructure, and inference.
• Ship software through continuous deployment and iterate based on user feedback.
• Contribute across design, research, engineering, and product management as needed to create new scientific software experiences.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of software development experience.
• Strong interest in generative AI.
• Solid computer science and software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with or willingness to work across fullstack web development.
• Backend stack: Python, Flask, and Postgres; frontend stack: React, TypeScript, Redux, and Sass.

Nice to have

• B.S. in computer science.
• Experience shipping generative-AI software to users, such as an LLM startup or a side project with real usage.
• Familiarity with fullstack web development.
