New Grad Manufacturing Engineer (Defense Technology)

Location: On-site in Huntington Beach, California, United States. U.S. work authorization is required; export-controlled work may require authorization to receive EAR/ITAR technology without sponsorship for an export license.

Salary: $105,000–$110,000 annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Own production planning from late-stage prototype builds through mass-production ramp.
• Design high-throughput manufacturing systems focused on first-pass yield and target cycle times.
• Optimize product designs using DFM/A, part-count reduction, tooling compatibility, poka-yoke, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
• Plan manufacturing launches, capacity, headcount, equipment, factory layouts, cycle times, and capital and operating expenditures.
• Lead virtual-build events, make-versus-buy studies, vendor FAT/SAT activities, and automation-cell deployment.
• Support production validation and ramp through work instructions, MES quality gates, PFMEA, SPC, 8D analysis, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Graduating with a bachelor's, master's, or PhD by December 2026 or January 2027, or holding an equivalent engineering qualification.
• 1–3+ years of manufacturing, process engineering, or industrialization experience; internships and school projects qualify.
• Degree or equivalent experience in industrial and systems, mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering.
• Experience with high-volume or high-tech manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma, probability and statistics, and shop-floor processes such as machining, welding, composites, additive manufacturing, assembly, or testing.
• Familiarity with process documentation, quality systems, GD&T, tolerance analysis, process capability, and DFM/A.
• Proficiency with CAD; Siemens NX, CATIA, or SolidWorks preferred.
