Multi Skilled Engineer (Automation)

Location: Warrington, UK; site-based Engineering Operations role

What you will do

• Complete planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support across production lines.
• Use the CMMS engineering activity planning system to manage maintenance schedules, stock control, and equipment availability.
• Audit machine safety standards and support contractor control through Permit to Work and Lockout/Tagout processes.
• Work with operational teams and suppliers to resolve equipment issues, procure components, and improve production systems.
• Apply Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement methods to eliminate recurring faults.
• Represent engineering in site huddles and mentor Associate Engineers and Engineering Support Operatives.

Requirements

• Apprenticeship-trained and electrically qualified, preferably with a multi-skilled engineering background.
• City & Guilds, ONC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
• Experience with PLC fault finding and working knowledge of PLC control principles.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards, hazard and risk assessment, isolation, and check-for-dead procedures.
• Understanding of Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement processes.
• Experience with FMCG, food manufacturing, automation systems, conveying equipment, warehouse automation, or pick-by-light systems; proficiency with MS Office and Google Docs.

• IOSH qualification.
• PUWER, LOLER, and Manual Handling training.
