Site Engineer (PLN) - THG Manufacturing (Manufacturing)

Location: Private Label Nutrition, FY4 2RP, Blackpool, UK. Monday to Friday rotating shifts: 06:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00.

What you will do

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and respond to equipment breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and repair, overhaul, and improve industrial production machinery.
• Maintain and repair tablet presses, capsule filling machines, blenders, mixers, metal detectors, compressors, and site utilities.
• Complete maintenance documentation and use maintenance management systems accurately.
• Ensure work complies with GMP, food safety, health and safety, permits to work, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, equipment installation, commissioning, validation, and engineering improvement projects.

Requirements

• Time-served engineering apprenticeship or recognised engineering qualification, such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent.
• Multi-skilled engineering experience in a manufacturing environment with strong mechanical maintenance skills.
• Electrical fault-finding capability on industrial machinery.
• Experience with motors and gearboxes, bearings, pneumatics, vacuum pumps, sensors, and inverters/VFDs.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical manuals, use CMMS or maintenance management systems, and solve equipment faults.
• Onsite availability in Blackpool, UK, for rotating Monday-to-Friday shifts is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in food, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or FMCG manufacturing.
• Knowledge of GMP-controlled environments and food safety/HACCP.
• PLC fault-finding experience with Siemens, Allen Bradley, or similar systems.
• 18th Edition qualification and IOSH Working Safely or equivalent.
