Composite Technician (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Fabricate composite components using hand layup, resin infusion, prepreg handling, and bonding techniques.
• Build, modify, and maintain custom molds, fixtures, and jigs for prototype fabrication and assembly.
• Interpret 3D models, engineering drawings, verbal instructions, and process specifications with engineers and designers.
• Develop and refine layup methods, cure cycles, vacuum bagging, and oven-curing processes.
• Trim, drill, assemble, surface-finish, and inspect complex composite parts to tight tolerances.
• Maintain material and process traceability, identify manufacturability issues, and support prototype-to-production improvements.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on composite fabrication experience.
• Proficiency with hand layup, prepreg handling, and vacuum bagging techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and process specifications.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort working with epoxy resins, adhesives, and solvents while following safety procedures.
• Ability to work full-time and in person in San Francisco.

Nice to have

• Experience with jigs, fixtures, or tooling made from metal, wood, or composite materials.
• Familiarity with precision measurement tools, quality inspection processes, and 3D modeling software.
• Experience in fast-paced prototyping or large-scale production environments.
