Composites Technician (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Fabricate, assemble, and finish composite structures for unmanned defense systems using prepreg, wet layup, and resin infusion techniques.
• Perform lay-up, bagging, curing, trimming, drilling, bonding, fastening, and precision machining of composite parts.
• Operate ovens and vacuum systems and conduct in-process inspections to identify defects and verify tolerances.
• Support rapid prototype builds by adapting processes, iterating with engineers, and documenting lessons learned.
• Support production builds by following controlled work instructions, maintaining repeatability, and meeting takt time.
• Maintain tooling, fixtures, clean work areas, safety standards, and documentation required for defense hardware.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of hands-on composite fabrication experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or marine applications.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Ability to wear full PPE and work in cleanroom or controlled environments.
• Ability to lift more than 25 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a fast-paced environment with tight tolerances.

Nice to have

• Experience with prototype composite builds where processes are not fully defined.
• Knowledge of structural bonding, secondary bonding, composite repair, or defense and aerospace quality standards.
• Cross-training in paint, coatings, metallics, or assembly.
• Experience supporting both development and production environments.
