Senior Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails)

Location: Remote within the UK, with the option to work from the West London office. Office attendance is available three days per week on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Drive application and web development projects for signup funnels, referral loops, and landing pages.
• Contribute to the architecture and development direction of the Acquisition Squad.
• Build and maintain backend infrastructure using Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL, including discount APIs and session architectures.
• Maintain server-side data collection, analytics event tracking, third-party tracking integrations, and cookie compliance.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, growth marketers, and engineers to improve acquisition and conversion systems.
• Promote engineering best practices through pair programming, mentoring, code reviews, and clear architectural communication.

Requirements

• Significant commercial experience in a senior software engineering role.
• Deep production-grade experience with Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL; experience with other object-oriented languages such as Python is also considered.
• Hands-on experience implementing structured A/B testing methodologies.
• Ability to work autonomously and communicate technical and architectural decisions directly to product and marketing stakeholders.
• Understanding of how backend performance, tracking, and system quality affect business metrics and conversion rates.
• Right to work in the UK is required; visa sponsorship is unavailable.

Nice to have

• Experience with React and TypeScript.
• Experience with Segment, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, Google Ads, or Amazon Advertising.
• Familiarity with GraphQL, Storyblok, Vercel, or Next.js.
• Background in B2C or B2B startups, subscription models, or international e-commerce.
