Senior Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails)

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby on Rails code.
• Lead delivery for a team of engineers and ensure high-quality, on-time implementation.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and support their technical growth and career development.
• Collaborate with engineering and product leadership on technical strategy, roadmaps, and feature decisions.
• Identify performance bottlenecks, address scalability challenges, and contribute to architectural discussions.
• Help establish engineering standards and adapt software delivery processes to team needs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of production experience with Ruby on Rails.
• At least 2 years of experience in a team lead or tech lead role.
• Experience mentoring and developing engineering talent.
• Strong understanding of web application performance optimization, application scaling, and platform infrastructure.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• Knowledge of software delivery methodologies such as Agile and Kanban.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ruby on Rails monoliths, PostgreSQL, Redis, Cloudflare, ViewComponents, Hotwire, and ERB.
