Principal Engineering Program Manager (Semiconductor)

Location: San Jose, California, United States — onsite

Salary: $160,000–$200,000 annually, depending on experience, level, and business need. The role may also include discretionary bonuses, incentives, and benefits.

What you will do

• Define and maintain end-to-end program schedules for analog/mixed-signal IP development from specification through tape-out and validation.
• Manage critical paths, milestones, dependencies, budgets, metrics, and deliverables across circuit design, layout, verification, and silicon bring-up.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration across AMS design, digital, systems, product, operations, foundries, vendors, and external partners.
• Run program reviews, communicate status and trade-offs, drive decisions, and resolve blockers with stakeholders and leadership.
• Identify, quantify, and mitigate technical and schedule risks across concurrent silicon programs.
• Improve program management processes, documentation, accountability, and execution discipline.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of program or project management experience in semiconductor, IC, or hardware development.
• Experience managing complex silicon or AMS/IP programs through tape-out and silicon validation.
• Strong understanding of the ASIC/IC development lifecycle, including design, verification, layout, and bring-up.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Proficiency with program management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project and Microsoft 365.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Direct experience with analog/mixed-signal or high-speed connectivity programs.
• PMP certification or an equivalent program management credential.
• Experience with foundry engagement, tape-out flows, and vendor or IP coordination.
• Ability to lead through ambiguity in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment.
