Location: Wallops Island, Virginia, United States; based at hirify.global’s Launch Complex 3

Salary: $110,000–$145,000 USD per year, plus potential stock and cash incentives.

What you will do

  • Lead engineers responsible for avionics hardware, flight software, and ground station systems supporting Electron and Neutron launches.
  • Operate avionics consoles in Mission Control during test campaigns, rehearsals, and launch operations.
  • Develop CONOPS, test plans, operational procedures, checklists, HMIs, and ground network controls.
  • Lead operational readiness reviews, mission rehearsals, training simulations, and operator qualification programs.
  • Troubleshoot avionics and communications anomalies in real time and analyze post-test and post-launch data.
  • Lead root-cause analysis, corrective actions, operational projects, and the development of Neutron avionics operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer, aerospace, software engineering, or another technical discipline.
  • 5–8+ years of experience with avionics, RF systems, telemetry, flight software, or launch vehicle operations.
  • Proficiency with avionics hardware, flight software systems, and ground station operations.
  • Experience with high-reliability and safety-critical aerospace software, RF systems, telemetry, or avionics networking infrastructure.
  • Leadership experience, including change management, conflict resolution, escalation, and team management.
  • Experience developing operational procedures, test plans, and mission simulations.

Nice to have

  • Mission Control, launch vehicle, spacecraft avionics, flight software, or ground station experience.
  • Aviation, aircrew, or flight test experience.
  • Experience with real-time embedded systems, flight control software, DO-178C, data acquisition, real-time monitoring, or operational HMIs.
