Accountant

Location: Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia; hybrid workplace

What you will do

• Prepare and analyse daily payment operations reports for the Australia and Malaysia markets.
• Cross-check operational reports, monitor bank settlements, and perform daily accounting routines.
• Manage full-set accounts and reconciliation reports for Malaysia and Australia entities.
• Support annual statutory audits, taxation matters, company secretarial matters, cash flow management, and intercompany transactions.
• Monitor and reconcile daily client account balances and prepare monthly and quarterly compliance reports for BNM and ASIC.
• Collaborate with other teams to improve financial reporting quality and automate internal operational processes.

Requirements

• At least 2–3 years of experience preparing full-set accounts and handling month-end closing.
• Degree or diploma in Accounting, or membership in a professional accounting body.
• Basic understanding of accounting, financial reporting principles and practices, and tax law.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
• Strong attention to detail, work ethic, organisation, and ability to handle confidential data.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively and communicate with stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in the payment industry.
• Interest in working for a fintech startup and comfort working with numbers.
• Candidates with less experience may be considered for an Accountant position.
