Accountant (Payroll)

Location: Penang 15, Penang, Malaysia. Shift: Shift 1 (Malaysia).

hirify.global is hiring for a finance role supporting payroll accounting across multiple countries and entities.

What you will do

• Prepare and support payroll journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and related reporting.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities for assigned countries and entities.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, company policies, and internal controls.
• Collaborate with HR, Tax, Treasury, Corporate Finance, and local finance teams on payroll and asset accounting activities.
• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits and respond to audit inquiries.
• Contribute to process improvement, automation, standardization, ERP implementation, and finance transformation initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of relevant payroll accounting experience.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, payroll accounting, and internal controls.
• Experience with ERP systems; SAP or Oracle is preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel, analytical, communication, attention-to-detail, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in a Shared Services Center or Global Business Services environment.
