Associate Director, Accounting B2B

Location: New York, NY; salary structure also covers New Jersey

Base salary: $174,000–$183,500 annually

What you will do

• Own designated areas of the P&L and balance sheet, ensuring financial data integrity and accuracy.
• Lead the month-end close process, including variance analysis and communication of results to business partners and leadership.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements under U.S. GAAP and internal policies.
• Interpret and apply ASC 606 to new initiatives and B2B business models.
• Design and maintain SOX-aligned internal controls to support IPO readiness.
• Review material B2B contracts, assess accounting and operational impacts, and recommend improvements while partnering with VPs and cross-functional leaders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA designation required.
• At least 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including B2B accounting with discounts and volume-related contract terms.
• In-depth ASC 606 revenue recognition knowledge and experience with internal controls and frameworks such as SOX.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and independent project-management skills.
• Comfort working with large data sets and ability to read and decipher SQL queries.

Nice to have

• Previous audit firm experience.
• Experience at a public company or a company that recently completed an IPO.
• Experience with NetSuite and FloQast.
