Senior Engineering Project Manager (Hardware Product Development)

Location: Onsite in Andover, Massachusetts; candidates must live within commutable distance. Travel up to 15%.

Salary: $155,000–$210,000 per year, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead complex NPI and advanced development programs across multiple concurrent projects, from concept through production launch.
• Manage scope, schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies, and financial reporting using the MKS Product Development Process.
• Coordinate engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and business teams in a matrixed environment.
• Build integrated program schedules, identify cross-program conflicts, and track critical-path execution.
• Lead program and gate reviews with senior leadership, providing transparent delivery and risk assessments.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and deliverable traceability in accordance with ISO quality requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of related experience in a hardware product development environment.
• Experience managing programs composed of multiple concurrent projects with cross-functional dependencies.
• Strong knowledge of stage-gate or similar product development processes and project management tools such as Gantt and PERT charts, Scrum, action-item tracking, and critical-path management.
• Ability to lead through influence, resolve technical and resourcing challenges, and manage customer-facing engineering relationships in a matrixed organization.
• Must be able to work onsite and reside within commuting distance of Andover, MA.

Nice to have

• Engineering, science, or related technical degree.
• PMP certification or equivalent.
• Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems and audit processes.
• Experience managing $1M–$2M program budgets.
• Experience in startup environments, semiconductor equipment, industrial technology, or precision manufacturing.
