Location: San Francisco, CA, United States. Hybrid policy: staff must be in one of the offices at least 25% of the time.

Annual salary: $240,000–$325,000 USD.

What you will do

• Lead budgeting, monthly forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning for cloud accelerator compute spend.
• Build bottoms-up financial models for accelerator infrastructure, including long-range forecasts, cost-driver analysis, and investment scenarios.
• Analyze compute contracts, pricing structures, and infrastructure cost drivers to identify optimization opportunities.
• Own the source of truth for Anthropic’s compute capacity plan and translate technical requirements into financial frameworks.
• Analyze the economics and ROI of model training and research compute across run sizes, chip types, and data inputs.
• Partner with engineering and research teams and support the implementation of financial planning tools such as Pigment.

Requirements

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, financial modeling, communication, and process-management skills.
• Experience partnering with technical teams to drive financial optimization and operational outcomes.
• Background in AI, machine learning, or high-performance, large-scale computing infrastructure.
• 7+ years of experience in strategic finance, infrastructure investment, private equity, growth equity, consulting, or investment banking.
• 3+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure financial management and experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.

Nice to have

• Expertise in cloud service provider economics, contract structures, and pricing models.
• Experience with chip architecture economics and optimization strategies.
• Proficiency with SQL, Python, Excel, and financial modeling tools.
