Base pay: Senior Software Engineer: $155,000–$193,000 USD per year; Staff Software Engineer: $190,000–$238,000 USD per year.

hirify.global is developing the ES-30, a 30-passenger regional hybrid-electric aircraft with electric and extended hybrid flight ranges.

What you will do

• Develop highly reliable embedded software for critical aircraft systems.
• Design and implement capabilities for engine controllers, battery management systems, flight control actuators, flight control systems, and aircraft data networks.
• Develop aircraft models, simulation tools, and test systems for simulated environments and full-scale test stands.
• Build systems for software deployment, test execution, data analysis, and continuous integration and release.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary engineering teams throughout the software lifecycle.
• Mentor junior engineers and establish software development best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of professional experience writing safety-critical code for vehicles or similar applications for the Senior level, or 8+ years for the Staff level.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Experience with embedded environments, including microcontrollers, bare metal, RTOS, or embedded operating systems.
• Experience with systems architecture, fault tolerance, fault mitigation, and cyber-physical system modeling.
• Experience developing software under a functional safety-compliant process such as IEC 61508, ISO 26262, or DO-178C.

Nice to have

• Significant experience with Rust, Python, C, C++, or a similar systems programming language.
• Experience with 6 DoF simulators, Monte Carlo simulations, or battery pack models.
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, CI/CD, fuzzing, data collection, report generation, and advanced automated test methods.
• Passion for aircraft and Heart’s mission.
