Flight Software Engineer (C/C++)

Salary: $105,000–$125,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop and maintain embedded flight software for flight control, navigation, communication, and avionics systems.
• Integrate software with aircraft hardware and write efficient, well-documented code that meets performance and safety requirements.
• Create software requirements and design documents, participate in code and design reviews, and maintain technical documentation.
• Test and debug software against design specifications and performance requirements.
• Work with systems engineers on system-level tests and simulations.
• Develop safety-critical software and documentation for regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in embedded flight software development.
• Professional programming experience in C/C++.
• Experience with embedded flight software development tools and methodologies.
• Must be eligible to access information and items subject to U.S. export controls, either as a U.S. person or through deemed export licensing.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with RTOS or embedded Linux for real-time applications.
• Familiarity with low-level interfaces such as CAN, RS422, MIL-STD-1553, and ARINC429.
• Experience with fault-redundant design and safety-critical processes such as DO-178C or MIL-516C.
• Knowledge of avionics, flight control, and navigation systems.
• Experience in a startup environment.
