Strategic Finance (Defense Technology)

Location: Torrance, California, United States

Salary: $134,000–$187,500 USD per year, plus equity grants.

What you will do

• Own the operating model, including budgeting, forecasting, planning, and related analysis.
• Support FP&A, business operations, strategy, and corporate development initiatives.
• Partner with senior leadership on strategic opportunities, partnerships, M&A, and fundraising.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and align stakeholders to solve unstructured problems.
• Help build the strategic finance function from the ground up.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of progressive experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, management consulting, venture-backed startups, or similar high-performance environments.
• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and corporate finance skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to rapidly iterate, adapt, and absorb new information.
• Genuine interest in defense, hardware, and manufacturing.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-growth, venture-backed startups.
• MBA and/or CFA.
• Working fluency with AI tools and light scripting.
• Experience with defense or hardware companies.
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis techniques.
