Strategic Finance Associate (AI Manufacturing)

Location: Los Angeles, CA; full-time onsite presence required in Hawthorne five days per week

Salary: $110,000–$135,000 per year, plus stock options

What you will do

• Own and maintain the integrated financial model, including three-statement modeling, bottoms-up budgeting, and rolling forecasts.
• Lead monthly and quarterly variance analysis and prepare executive-ready commentary for leadership and the Board.
• Build customer- and product-level pricing models covering unit economics, contribution margins, and scenario analysis.
• Model M&A opportunities, including target evaluation, DCF/LBO valuation, synergy analysis, accretion/dilution, and post-close integration tracking.
• Maintain the three-to-five-year financial plan and convert strategic initiatives into detailed projections.
• Support joint venture and partnership evaluation, capital allocation decisions, board materials, investor reporting, and cross-functional analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or strategic finance at a high-growth company.
• Experience with variance analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting in an operating company.
• Ability to work onsite in Hawthorne five days per week, with very limited exceptions.

Nice to have

• MBA or advanced degree in finance or business.
• Exceptional financial modeling skills and strong command of Excel.
• Private equity or growth equity experience, especially at the portfolio company level.
• Experience in manufacturing, deep tech, or hardware-intensive businesses.
• Experience with Mosaic, Pigment, Adaptive, or similar financial planning tools.
• Willingness to build from zero and handle responsibilities of varying scope.
