TL;DR
Lead High-Speed PCB Layout Engineer (Aerospace): Owns the physical implementation and manufacturing release of high-speed digital and mixed-signal satellite electronics in Altium with an accent on component placement, constraint-driven routing, stack-up definition, and signal and power integrity. Focus on designing reliable high-performance boards, controlling return paths and noise coupling, supporting lab bring-up, and solving SI/PI issues through qualification and environmental testing.

Location: Redwood City, California, United States; on-site. ITAR eligibility is required: U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Salary: $160,000–$200,000 per year, with flexibility between salary and equity-based compensation.

Company

hirify.global builds advanced radar satellite systems and a coordinated satellite fleet for creating high-resolution, real-time 3D maps of Earth.

What you will do

  • Own high-speed PCB layout from component placement through manufacturing release in Altium.
  • Define stack-ups, impedance targets, length-matching constraints, reference planes, and return-path strategies.
  • Translate schematics and performance requirements into mixed-signal and high-speed digital layouts that meet signal integrity and power integrity requirements.
  • Collaborate with electrical design, firmware, mechanical, and test engineers on constraints, design reviews, and first-pass success.
  • Drive DFM and DFT activities with fabrication and assembly partners, including documentation and release artifacts.
  • Support lab bring-up, hardware debugging, SI/PI investigations, qualification, and environmental testing.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with high-speed digital and mixed-signal PCB layout, fabrication, and manufacturing release.
  • Strong knowledge of constraint-driven routing, impedance control, length matching, stack-ups, return paths, and reference-plane strategy.
  • Advanced experience with Altium Designer; familiarity with Allegro or OrCAD is useful.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment under significant time constraints.
  • Must meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

  • Experience with SI/PI analysis tools such as Ansys SIwave, Keysight Power Analyzer, HyperLynx, or Sigrity.
  • Experience with dense, high-performance boards and layout-driven SI/PI behavior, including via transitions and noise coupling.
  • Experience taking hardware from prototype through qualification and environmental testing.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work on satellite technology for real-time Earth observation and radar mapping.
  • Competitive compensation with flexibility between salary and equity-based compensation.
  • Full-time, on-site work in Redwood City.
  • Interview process conducted via Google Meet and typically completed within 2–4 weeks.

Hiring process

  • Interviews are conducted via Google Meet.
  • The typical process takes approximately 2–4 weeks from start to finish.
