PCB Layout Engineer (Aerospace)

Salary: $128,000–$160,000 annually

What you will do

• Design complex multilayer PCBs for spacecraft avionics, power systems, RF systems, and compute hardware.
• Translate electrical schematics into production-ready, manufacturable PCB layouts.
• Define stackups and routing strategies for high-speed digital interfaces, power distribution networks, and mixed-signal designs.
• Perform signal integrity, power integrity, impedance control, and design rule analysis.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, test, suppliers, and contract manufacturers on board integration, fabrication, assembly, and bring-up.
• Create manufacturing documentation and develop PCB design standards while applying DFM, DFA, and DFT practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• 1–5+ years of experience in PCB layout for complex electronic systems.
• Experience with Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or Mentor Graphics.
• Experience designing multilayer boards with controlled impedance, high-speed interfaces, and dense component placement.
• Understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, grounding, and EMI/EMC considerations, plus manufacturing documentation and fabrication support.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations under ITAR.

Nice to have

• PCB layout experience in aerospace, defense, satellite, or other high-reliability systems.
• Experience with DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, SerDes, or FPGA-based systems.
• RF layout, mixed-signal board design, and environmental testing experience.
• Knowledge of IPC standards, design for manufacturability, component creation, verification, and library management.
• Experience in fast-paced startup environments.
