USV Pilot

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark. Hybrid or remote work is possible within the role's planned schedule. Candidates must be authorized to work in Denmark; work or residence permit sponsorship is not provided. The role requires access to classified information and obtaining and maintaining a personnel security clearance through the Danish Security and Intelligence Service (PET).

hirify.global develops and operates autonomous unmanned surface vehicles for maritime security, ocean science, environmental monitoring, and defense applications.

What you will do

• Remotely pilot and monitor autonomous surface vehicles during continuous global mission operations.
• Plan passages and safely navigate shipping lanes and vessel traffic while maintaining appropriate Closest Point of Approach.
• Monitor vehicle navigation, payload status, and system health, resolving or escalating anomalies through remote systems.
• Use the hirify.global Mission Portal, maritime weather information, and ocean-current assessments to support operational decisions.
• Maintain mission logs, handovers, and real-time status communications throughout deployments and recoveries.
• Coordinate with Technical Operations, Fleet Service, Mission Control, forward-deployed teams, and external customers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant maritime command experience, including sailing theory and ocean crossings.
• Demonstrated proficiency with digital monitoring tools and computer systems for managing complex autonomous vehicle fleets remotely.
• Ability to analyse maritime weather forecasts and ocean currents under time-sensitive conditions.
• Working knowledge of COLREGs and standard maritime safety protocols.
• Ability to work rotating 4-day-on / 4-day-off schedules with 8-hour shifts, weekends, and non-standard hours under Danish working-time rules.
• Danish work authorization and the ability to obtain and maintain PET personnel security clearance are required.
