Senior Electrical Engineer, Ground Systems (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: Gardena, California, United States

Salary: $160,000–$200,000+ per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the design and manufacturing of custom electrical harnesses for vehicle platforms.
• Design and integrate embedded vehicle systems covering power, compute, sensing, actuation, and communications.
• Develop schematics, select components, design PCB layouts, define stackups, and perform signal routing for digital, analog, RF, and power-conversion circuits.
• Lead board bring-up, debugging, validation, manufacturing, testing, and assembly with internal teams and external vendors.
• Create PCB fabrication documentation and establish environmental, EMC, ESD, and validation test procedures.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams on system architecture and delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• 5+ years of experience designing, building, and testing electronics for aerospace, defense, robotics, or automotive systems.
• Strong experience with Altium Designer or a similar CAD system such as KiCad, EAGLE, or Cadence.
• Experience with high-speed digital electronics, embedded microcontrollers, RF components, power electronics, digital buses, and sensor integration.
• Proficiency in schematic capture, PCB layout, and board-level signal and power integrity design.
• Must satisfy U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship or nationality, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in avionics or high-reliability hardware systems.
• Experience delivering multi-board avionics or embedded systems from concept through production.
• Familiarity with military standards, design-for-manufacture, supply-chain planning, rapid prototyping, and in-house assembly.
• Experience validating hardware designed for extreme environments such as missiles, launch vehicles, hypersonic systems, or satellites.
