Senior Electrical Engineer (Defense)

Location: El Segundo, California, United States; onsite work with field deployment support

Salary: $180,000–$220,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Design, prototype, validate, produce, and deploy mission-critical hardware systems.
• Own electrical components and the full design lifecycle for hardware products.
• Design and release custom PCBAs for high-reliability applications.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, and deployment teams to integrate reliable systems.
• Support direct field deployment and system operation in harsh environments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience designing and releasing custom PCBAs into production.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of high-speed digital design, signal integrity, power electronics, PCIE, USB-C 3.2, Ethernet, and POE.
• Experience with schematic capture, PCB design, circuit simulation, oscilloscopes, DMMs, bench power supplies, and data loggers.
• Familiarity with embedded engineering, STM32, FreeRTOS, C/C++, Rust, Git, and CAD.
• Must meet U.S. Government export-control requirements: U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience in defense, aerospace, or other high-reliability hardware industries.
• Experience designing for temperature, vibration, and ingress protection.
• Experience with KiCAD, Altium, LTSpice, and OnShape.
