Semiconductor Equipment Maintenance Technician-Vacuum

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina, USA; onsite 12-hour compressed 2-2-3 shift schedule

Salary: $24.55–$36.85 per hour

What you will do

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on vacuum pumps, exhaust systems, abatement units, and semiconductor process equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and vacuum system failures.
• Replace, rebuild, and overhaul pumps, seals, bearings, valves, and related components.
• Conduct leak detection, vacuum integrity testing, system qualification, installations, upgrades, and process tool startups.
• Monitor equipment performance, document maintenance actions in CMMS, and identify opportunities to reduce downtime.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and equipment teams on reliability, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in electronics, mechanical technology, or a related field.
• Experience maintaining vacuum systems, semiconductor equipment, or industrial manufacturing equipment.
• Knowledge of vacuum pumps, pressure measurement, leak detection, gas handling systems, and process tool maintenance.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom while following contamination control, hazardous gas and chemical safety procedures, and required PPE requirements.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience in semiconductor fabrication facilities.
• Knowledge of dry, cryogenic, and turbomolecular pumps, foreline systems, and abatement technologies.
• Familiarity with Applied Materials, Lam Research, KLA, ASML, Evatec, Veeco, or TEL equipment.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Reliability-Centered Maintenance practices.
