Engineering Technician II

Location: Austin, TX, United States; onsite

Salary: $21.50–$29.20 per hour

What you will do

• Perform routine to moderately complex design, testing, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting, and assembly of electronic and electro-mechanical systems.
• Test and troubleshoot system-level and component-level electrical and mechanical problems.
• Support new system and NPI installations, field upgrades, prototype models, specialized test equipment, tools, and test fixtures.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, and process testing according to engineering and manufacturing documentation.
• Compile logbooks and test procedure documentation, perform rework, and generate Quality Notifications.
• Follow safety, security, cleanroom, and manufacturing procedures while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Requirements

• Analytical skills and the ability to apply scientific methods to a variety of technical activities.
• Ability to work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, and plans.
• Ability to recognize and solve typical problems using established procedures or scientific methods.
• Ability to use hand and power tools and operate heavy machinery, including forklifts.
• Physically demanding onsite work requiring extended standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, climbing, lifting, and working in tight spaces.
• Cleanroom work may require coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields.
