R&D Machinist (CNC)

Location: Onsite at the facility in Torrance, California, in the Los Angeles area. Applicants must be eligible under U.S. Government export regulations as a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or person eligible to obtain the required authorizations.

Salary: $24.75–$50.60 per hour, depending on level and experience, plus equity.

What you will do

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills and live-tooling lathes for development hardware and test fixtures.
• Monitor, replace, and reset cutting tools, and perform deburring as needed.
• Machine graphite, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloys.
• Provide engineering feedback to improve component manufacturability.
• Complete work instructions and process documentation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and understand G-code, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
• Ability to work long hours and weekends when required to support critical milestones.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and perform prolonged standing, bending, and stooping.
• Must meet U.S. Government export-control eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience machining stainless steel, Inconel, exotic alloys, or graphite.
• Experience operating Fanuc CNC controllers and modifying G-code based on machine performance.
• Experience in an R&D machining environment.
• Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, NQA1, or similar quality systems.
• Ability to adjust priorities in response to changing schedule demands.
