Focus on leading avionics testing projects, developing CONOPS and HMIs, configuring ground and vehicle hardware, and supporting launch and mission operations.

Location: Wallops Island, Virginia, United States

Salary: $100,000–$135,000 USD per year

What you will do

  • Develop, integrate, and test avionics and electrical systems for Electron and Neutron launch vehicles.
  • Configure and perform checkout of avionics systems, facilities, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Lead testing projects for avionics and electrical systems.
  • Develop Concept of Operations documents and Human-Machine Interfaces for ground and vehicle electrical hardware.
  • Author, review, and execute operational procedures.
  • Mentor and train Integrated Operations operators on avionics and electrical systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or mechatronic engineering.
  • For Level II: 2+ years of experience in engineering design, testing, and/or operations focused on electrical or software engineering.
  • For Senior Engineer I: 5+ years of experience in engineering design, testing, and/or operations focused on electrical or software engineering.
  • For US-office roles, candidates must meet US Government ITAR access requirements, such as US citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylum status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.
  • Ability to work for prolonged periods sitting, standing, walking, and using a computer, with occasional exposure to moderate noise, dust, and fumes.

Nice to have

  • Experience with launch vehicles or spacecraft, including integration, testing, launch, or mission operations.
  • Experience with Java, Python, or another object-oriented programming language.
  • Software development experience with web-based tools such as HTML and XML.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, multicast protocols, packet switching, and routing.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems.
