Senior Azure Network Engineer (Cloud Security)

Location: Remote position based in Germany, with occasional on-site collaboration and anchor days at offices in Berlin or Cologne.

What you will do

• Design highly available Azure networking solutions across Azure, GCP and on-premises environments using ExpressRoute, Virtual WAN, BGP, Azure Firewall and Private Link.
• Build observability solutions with KQL, Azure Workbooks, alerts, Azure Monitor and Azure Connection Monitor to detect anomalies and connectivity issues.
• Modernize network security through Azure Firewall Premium, network security groups, micro-segmentation and enterprise security standards.
• Establish Infrastructure as Prompt and AI-assisted infrastructure management alongside traditional Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Define Azure governance guardrails, policies, blueprints and decentralized network management concepts.
• Develop disaster recovery, automated failover testing, threat detection and response capabilities with Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in Azure networking, including Azure Firewall, ExpressRoute, Virtual WAN, BGP, Private Link and enterprise hub-and-spoke architectures.
• Experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, KQL, Azure Monitor and cloud observability.
• Experience designing secure, scalable hybrid cloud connectivity and enterprise network architectures.
• Interest in Infrastructure as Prompt, AI-assisted infrastructure management and intelligent network automation.
• Ability to collaborate across infrastructure, cloud and security teams and communicate complex networking concepts clearly.
• Ability to work remotely from Germany and attend occasional office anchor days or on-site collaboration in Germany.

• Google Cloud networking experience.
• Sophos Firewall experience.
• Enterprise on-premises networking experience.
• Experience with Logic Apps, Azure Functions or Kubernetes.
