Power Electronics Controls Engineer

What you will do

• Design, simulate, and verify control algorithms for grid-connected and off-grid power converters.
• Design and verify signal-processing algorithms and support real-world and firmware verification.
• Model converter power stages and develop and maintain hardware-in-the-loop simulation models.
• Analyze high-level system specifications and define control diagrams.
• Prepare technical documentation for designs, verification processes, and other departments.
• Support testing and analysis at customer facilities when required.

Requirements

• Engineering or university degree in an engineering or science field.
• Fluent English and Spanish, written and spoken.
• 0–3 years of academic experience modeling and designing controllers for solar inverters, wind power, energy storage, UPS, network-quality, electric-mobility, or other electrical-converter applications.
• Academic experience with power-converter modeling and simulation tools such as Matlab/Simulink, Octave, PSIM, PLECS, or Simba.
• Experience with Typhoon HIL or another HIL system, plus knowledge of dynamic modeling and control theory.
• Ability to conduct literature reviews, synthesize and communicate technical information clearly, and work methodically in a team.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of other European languages.
