TL;DR
Board Design Engineer (Aerospace): Designing and validating printed circuit assemblies for radar payloads and on-orbit processing systems with an accent on high-density digital, mixed-signal, power, RF, and compute hardware. Focus on taking boards from architecture and schematics through layout, manufacturing, bring-up, qualification, and signal and power integrity validation.

What you will do

  • Design advanced electronic platforms and printed circuit assemblies for radar payloads and on-orbit processing systems.
  • Define requirements, perform system trades, select components, capture schematics, and design complex electronic assemblies.
  • Develop high-density digital, mixed-signal, power, RF-interface, and compute hardware for small satellite platforms.
  • Lead prototyping, hardware bring-up, debugging, manufacturing, and test campaigns.
  • Collaborate with software, firmware, RF, antenna, digital, mechanical, and systems engineers.
  • Iterate designs based on laboratory, environmental, and on-orbit test results.

Requirements

  • Experience with board design and layout, electronics manufacturing, bring-up, and testing.
  • 4+ years of electrical engineering experience delivering products from concept through production.
  • Experience with high-speed board design, PCB stack-up, fabrication, floorplanning, component placement and routing, simulation, and measurement.
  • Hands-on experience with SoCs, FPGAs, MCUs, DDR, SSDs, PCIe, SPI, JESD204B, and RF components such as PAs, LNAs, and switches.
  • Expertise in signal and power integrity simulation and measurement, including oscilloscopes and network analyzers.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the authorizations required under ITAR.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in consumer electronics, power electronics, communications, automotive, aerospace, or robotics.
