Field Applications Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Boise, Idaho, United States. Travel requirement: 0–25%.

Salary: $90,244.48–$161,496.00 base annual salary, plus eligibility for a team incentive bonus and comprehensive benefits.

What you will do

• Support customers with semiconductor equipment setup, process development, and machine or process troubleshooting.
• Perform scientific and engineering projects, calculations, laboratory experiments, and field tests.
• Analyze technical data, interpret results, and prepare corrective plans and written reports.
• Identify improvements to products and processes and communicate technical findings.
• Publish technical papers, application notes, manuals, and deliver training seminars.
• Present technical results and product information at conferences in support of marketing and sales.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or a master’s degree in a related field with 2–4 years of experience.
• Knowledge of semiconductor equipment subsystems, ion implantation, basic implanter physics, beam optics, dosimetry, vacuum technology, and wafer processing.
• Ability to troubleshoot difficult technical problems, analyze data, design experiments, and apply statistical process control techniques.
• Ability to interface with, negotiate with, coach, and provide technical support to customers.
• Strong technical writing, presentation, communication, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
