Field Applications Engineer (Semiconductor)

What you will do

• Lead process qualification and acceptance activities for ion beam deposition systems at customer sites.
• Execute process BKMs and support the transfer of processes from development environments into customer manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot process, hardware, and system performance issues to drive timely resolutions.
• Deliver technical training to customers on equipment operation, maintenance, and best practices.
• Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for customer escalations.
• Collaborate with applications engineering, product management, and service teams to ensure customer success.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting semiconductor, optical coating, thin-film deposition, or vacuum process equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot complex process and equipment issues.
• Experience working directly with customers in a technical support or field engineering capacity.
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50-75% domestically and internationally.
• Strong understanding of thin-film deposition processes and vacuum systems.
