Controller

Location: Austin, Texas; on-site

Company

Develops micro modular nuclear power plants and the financial infrastructure supporting their deployment.

What you will do

• Own the full accounting close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end reporting.
• Maintain the chart of accounts, cost coding structure, accounting policies, and procedures.
• Lead and develop the accounting team, including staff and project accountants.
• Administer and optimize NetSuite as the company ERP as project activity scales.
• Oversee corporate expenses, card spend controls, procurement accounting, and project cost allocation.
• Manage external auditors, tax preparers, regulatory bodies, and documentation for project financing, bonding, and insurance.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years as a public-company Controller or Assistant Controller.
• Current Texas CPA license.
• Deep NetSuite expertise, including prior configuration, optimization, and scaling.
• Strong knowledge of construction or project accounting, including job costing, committed costs, budget management, and procurement accounting.
• Experience with SOX control systems and technical accounting for PCAOB-level audits.
• Experience building accounting processes and controls and managing accounting teams in a lean or startup environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in construction, energy, defense, or another highly regulated capital project environment.
• Additional NetSuite experience.
