Senior Backend Kotlin / Java Software Engineer - Client Technology (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid role based in the Berlin or Munich offices, Germany. International relocation support is provided if required, and working from abroad is available as an additional benefit.

What you will do

• Build and improve secure, reliable, and scalable systems supporting the client journey end to end.
• Design, implement, and operate production services with Kotlin, Java, Spring, and cloud-native technologies.
• Develop solutions for authentication, onboarding, consent flows, client engagement, support tooling, and public web experiences.
• Work with AWS infrastructure and modern DevOps practices to deliver and run services.
• Write clean, testable, maintainable, and well-documented code with a strong focus on security and quality.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders while driving technical ownership and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Strong professional software engineering experience with Java and/or Kotlin.
• Hands-on experience with Spring, REST APIs, GraphQL, JWT, Docker, and Git.
• Experience building and operating microservices in production.
• Practical experience with AWS or another major cloud provider, plus solid SQL and database knowledge.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or comparable practical experience.
• Professional proficiency in English, with clear and concise communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with authentication, security, consent management, onboarding, GDPR, KYC, or other regulated processes.
• Exposure to Salesforce, client support tooling, or client engagement platforms.
• DevOps experience with cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
• Experience in fintech, banking, or other regulated digital product environments.
