Mine Maintenance Technician

Location: Moab, Utah, United States; on-site

Compensation: $35–$45 per hour, depending on experience

hirify.global is a software-first, vertically integrated minerals company developing the Copper One platform and operating the Lisbon Valley Mining Company, a producing open-pit copper mine in southeastern Utah.

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems on haul trucks, loaders, dozers, graders, and other mobile mining equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to OEM guidelines and maintenance schedules.
• Troubleshoot failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime.
• Inspect equipment, support condition monitoring, and contribute to reliability initiatives.
• Perform maintenance in shop, field, active mining, outdoor, plant, and infrastructure environments.
• Document repairs, parts, inspections, equipment hours, and equipment condition in maintenance systems.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational mechanics or maintenance training is preferred.
• At least 3 years of maintenance experience in mining, heavy equipment, construction, industrial, or similar environments.
• Working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, drivetrains, electrical systems, and heavy equipment components.
• Ability to read schematics, service manuals, and diagnostic documentation and use troubleshooting tools, testing equipment, and service trucks.
• Ability to work safely in an active mine environment, walk long distances over rough terrain, climb ladders and structures, and lift at least 50 pounds.
• Must comply with MSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, equipment SOPs, and required PPE standards.

Nice to have

• Experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, or other large mining equipment brands.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Welding and fabrication skills, including MIG, stick, and cutting.
• Experience with field repairs in remote or rugged conditions.
• Knowledge of predictive maintenance and equipment health monitoring.
