TL;DR
Composite Technician I-III (Aerospace): Building and integrating composite aerospace structures through lamination, bonding, vacuum-bag processing, and oven/autoclave curing with an accent on precision layouts, core fitting, and mechanical hardware integration. Focus on preparing composite parts for processing, applying fasteners and thermal protection systems, and performing hands-on work in tight spaces.

Location: Onsite at hirify.global's Albuquerque, New Mexico site, United States. The role may require travel or work on other local hirify.global products.

What you will do

  • Assemble composite structures, including bonding, fastening, and mechanical hardware integration.
  • Laminate assemblies by determining the correct placement of composite materials.
  • Prepare parts for vacuum-bag processing with bleeders, thermocouples, probes, and vacuum connections.
  • Perform bonding, vacuum-bag processing, and oven or autoclave curing.
  • Create basic layouts and verify dimensions using calipers, micrometers, precision scales, and torque wrenches.
  • Fit honeycomb, foam, and syntactic cores, and refurbish thermal protection systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Technician II: 2+ years of experience with composites or laminations, military equipment maintenance, or electronics/mechanical troubleshooting and manufacturing equipment repair.
  • Technician III: 5+ years of experience in one of the relevant composite, military maintenance, electronics, mechanical troubleshooting, or manufacturing equipment repair areas.
  • For work in a U.S. office, candidates must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations under ITAR.
  • Ability to stand or walk for at least 8 hours, climb ladders, work in tight spaces, and perform repetitive bending, twisting, crawling, grasping, pulling, and pushing.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.

Nice to have

  • 8+ years of experience with composites or laminations.
  • Basic math skills and familiarity with pneumatic tools, hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and precision measurement instruments.
  • Experience reading drilling, laminating, and assembly prints and working with material data sheets.
  • Shop organization, cleanliness, and proper use of personal protective equipment.
