Staff Electrical Design Engineer (EPC)

What you will do

• Design and own medium-voltage feeds up to 34.5 kV, low-voltage power distribution, lighting, raceway, grounding, and communications systems.
• Serve as Electrical Engineer of Record and produce permit and construction drawings.
• Perform short-circuit, arc-flash, protective-device coordination, cable ampacity, and photometric studies using tools such as SKM, ETAP, and AmpCalc.
• Coordinate architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, fire and life-safety, and other disciplines to deliver complete Issue for Construction packages.
• Review conceptual designs, identify technical and financial risks, prepare electrical specifications, and evaluate consultant bids.
• Support construction and commissioning through RFI responses, submittal reviews, change-order management, site inspections, QA/QC, cost estimates, schedules, mentoring, and technical standards development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer license in Nevada or eligibility for reciprocity; Nevada and South Carolina PE licenses must be obtained within two months of starting.
• At least 10 years of experience in heavy commercial and industrial sectors.
• Advanced knowledge of NEC, IECC, and applicable NFPA standards, with experience leading code analysis on complex multidisciplinary projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, SKM or ETAP, AmpCalc or similar tools, and lighting design software such as Visual or AGI.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently, communicate effectively across disciplines and executive levels, and travel to project sites for construction administration and commissioning.
