Embedded Verification Engineer (Medical Devices)

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks and hardware-in-the-loop test rigs for firmware, embedded software, sensors, and medical instruments.
• Build tooling and CI pipelines that automatically verify software updates and support fast, high-confidence releases.
• Define test methods and acceptance criteria for system-level verification of medical devices.
• Plan and execute verification, system, and regression testing, producing audit-ready reports and maintaining traceability matrices and V&V plans.
• Collaborate with Firmware, Electronics, Algorithms, Software, QA/RA, and Manufacturing Engineering to make requirements testable and debug failures across hardware, firmware, and software boundaries.
• Improve verification infrastructure, coverage, feedback speed, reporting clarity, and process quality as the device portfolio scales.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Embedded, Software, or Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in system or embedded verification of complex hardware-software products, preferably in medical devices, automotive, robotics, industrial automation, or another regulated hardware industry.
• Strong hands-on Python experience for test automation, test framework development, and data analysis; working knowledge of C and C++.
• Solid understanding of embedded systems and communication protocols including UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, USB, and Ethernet.
• Experience building automated embedded-device test infrastructure, including hardware-in-the-loop rigs, instrument control, fixture design, and CI integration with Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent.
• Experience with cross-layer debugging using oscilloscopes, JTAG/SWD debuggers, and protocol sniffers, plus work under regulated development processes. Clear written and verbal English is required.

Nice to have

• Bash scripting and infrastructure-as-code or YAML pipeline definitions.
• Experience verifying devices combining optics, sensors, custom electronics, and embedded software.
• Experience contributing to FDA submissions, EU MDR technical files, or Notified Body audits.
• Experience setting up continuous-verification reporting and dashboards for test results, coverage, and traceability.
