Senior Employment and Regulatory Counsel (AI)

Location: Redwood City, California, United States. Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship.

Salary: $240,000–$300,000 USD base pay range annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Advise HR and business teams on employment compliance, recruiting, pay practices, reporting, worker classification, workplace safety, and employee training.
• Lead employment-law support for international expansion and corporate initiatives.
• Draft employment agreements, policies, templates, forms, and separation documents.
• Act as privacy counsel for employee data protection, data subject requests, data processing, and privacy compliance.
• Lead investigations and manage commercial, labor, employment, and intellectual property disputes through pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial.
• Develop scalable litigation, privacy, and regulatory compliance processes, including regimes for AI laws such as the EU AI Act.

Requirements

• JD from a top law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• 8+ years of related experience, including 3+ years at a premier law firm or government agency.
• Sufficient civil litigation experience to manage cases through all stages.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• U.S. work authorization is required; company sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
