Salary: $87,000–$125,000 USD base pay annually for Maryland.

What you will do
- Lead schedule-driven development of satellite separation mechanisms from concept through production implementation.
- Design mechanisms and structures in CAD and perform hand calculations and FEA.
- Define, trace, verify, and validate system requirements and manage compliance activities.
- Prepare technical documentation, including system design descriptions, CONOPS, ICDs, verification matrices, and risk management plans.
- Support environmental verification testing, including test requirements, procedures, and execution.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders on schedules, reviews, proposals, and technical decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
- Mechanical Engineer II: 2+ years of aerospace or similar mechanical development experience.
- Senior Mechanical Engineer I: 5+ years of mechanical development experience, including at least 2 years in aerospace.
- Proficiency in CAD and FEA, with a thorough understanding of aerospace standards, environments, verification tests, and requirements for the senior level.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, resolve blockers, and manage complex projects across organizational teams.
- U.S. office candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, eligible refugees or asylees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations under ITAR.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
- Proficiency in NX CAD and Simcenter FEA software.
- Experience designing aerospace mechanisms.
- Strong task management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
