Location: Troy, Michigan, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $108,877–$163,316 annual base pay

What you will do

  • Develop electrical system requirements and designs for battery electric vehicles, including wiring harnesses and jumpers.
  • Manage Tier 1 harness suppliers and lead development of system features with electrical module owners.
  • Lead and participate in vehicle-level technical design reviews with engineering groups and suppliers.
  • Define connector selections, circuits, wire sizing, and interfaces based on component and system loads.
  • Track and resolve open issues, align system timing with program timing, and escalate major risks.
  • Create DFMEA, DVP&R, and wiring harness test plans; test, rework, and debug prototype and pre-production vehicles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or an equivalent ABET-accredited program is preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in wiring release or electrical system development.
  • Hands-on experience with low- and high-voltage vehicle systems, including relays, circuit breakers, DCDC converters, motors, inverters, batteries, and onboard chargers.
  • Experience with Capital or Zuken harness development tools.
  • Knowledge of CAN, LIN, Ethernet, LVDS, and A2B physical topology requirements.
  • Experience with 8D, Five Whys, fishbone analysis, PPAP, FMEAs, Control Plans, and automotive standards including FMVSS, NHTSA, DOT, USCAR, SAE, and NEC.
