Business Development Manager (Machine Vision)

Location: San Jose, California, United States

Salary: $166,900–$241,600 USD annually for the Bay Area, with additional performance-based incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Identify and prioritize machine vision opportunities across factory automation, robotics, logistics, semiconductor inspection, automotive, and transportation.
• Build relationships with OEMs, camera manufacturers, Tier-1 suppliers, and system integrators to secure FPGA design wins.
• Support technical sales discussions involving image signal processing, vision pipelines, sensor fusion, and CNN-based edge AI inference.
• Develop joint solutions, reference designs, solution briefs, competitive positioning, and ROI/TCO analyses.
• Deliver customer and industry presentations while supporting opportunity qualification, pricing discussions, and deal progression.
• Provide market feedback to product management and engineering to influence connectivity, memory, edge AI, packaging, and integration priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in machine vision, imaging systems, or embedded edge systems within industrial, automotive, or transportation markets.
• Strong knowledge of image sensors, camera architectures, ISP and video processing pipelines, vision algorithms, and AI/ML fundamentals.
• Familiarity with SLVS, SLVS-EC, MIPI CSI-2, CoaXPress, GigE Vision, and USB3 Vision interfaces.
• Experience engaging global customers and managing long design cycles.
• Applicants must be eligible for any required U.S. export authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience with FPGA-based systems or FPGA solution selling.
• Knowledge of high-speed I/O, memory subsystems, PCIe architectures, and edge AI deployment constraints.
• Familiarity with GMSL, FPD-Link, and Ethernet-based vision systems.
• Awareness of ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 safety-driven design considerations.
• Experience with camera OEMs, frame grabber companies, or vision system integrators; an MBA or business training is a plus.
