hirify.global is developing the ES-30, a 30-passenger regional hybrid-electric aircraft with a 200 km electric zero-emission range and a 400 km extended hybrid range.

What you will do

  • Lead the mechanical design and development of battery cells, modules, housings, high-voltage distribution systems, and full-pack assemblies using advanced CAD tools.
  • Develop weight-optimized structural solutions that meet aircraft vibration, shock, and crash-safety requirements.
  • Create engineering drawings and specifications with rigorous Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing standards.
  • Prepare DFMEA and DVP&R documentation and execute mechanical, environmental, and abuse-testing plans.
  • Collaborate with Electrical, Thermal, and System Integration teams to integrate battery systems into the aircraft structure.
  • Support aerospace certification, design release schedules, manufacturing transition, and technical mentoring within the mechanical engineering team.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of mechanical engineering design experience focused on high-voltage battery systems at cell, module, or pack level.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Proficiency with mechanical CAD software such as Siemens NX or CATIA.
  • Experience with FEA software and hand calculations for structural and thermal analysis using tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or Star-CCM+.
  • Strong knowledge of structural mechanics, fatigue analysis, thermal management, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience designing components for certified aerospace or high-reliability automotive and EV applications.
  • Familiarity with aerospace certification standards including DO-160, DO-311A, MIL-STD, UN 38.3, and IEC standards.
  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or an energy-storage-related specialization.
  • Experience with sealing, ingress protection, BMS enclosures, interconnects, laser welding, potting, or battery-pack manufacturing.
