Equipment Development Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Batu Kawan, Malaysia; onsite at the Penang SDSM Office in Seberang Perai

What you will do

• Troubleshoot machines and perform preventive maintenance.
• Generate and maintain FMEA documents, training materials, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Investigate line abnormalities, quality issues, and yield losses, and implement timely corrective actions.
• Lead key improvement projects focused on machine performance, cost, yield, quality, capacity, and productivity.
• Collaborate with Process and NPI teams on machine- and product-related matters.
• Conduct machine and tooling buy-offs, standardization, customer audit follow-up, and prepare 8D presentations for QAF/RMA cases.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in Equipment Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of machine and mechanical design and optimization, with experience in inspection machines.
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills, including QC methods such as 7 QC tools, MSA, SPC, 8D, and DOE.
• Familiarity with reporting and data analysis tools, including PowerPoint, Excel, JMP, and AutoCAD.
• Good verbal and written English, with the ability to work independently and collaborate with multifunctional teams.
