Principal Engineer, Test Equipment

What you will do

• Sustain, troubleshoot, and optimize test cell equipment for sputtered disks in high-volume hard disk media manufacturing.
• Resolve equipment issues affecting product quality, manufacturing throughput, utilization, and parts per hour.
• Transfer and implement test-related projects, including new hardware and software enhancements, into production.
• Install, set up, and manage testers, robotic automation systems, bagging systems, and conveyors.
• Monitor equipment input variables and analyze measurement results to improve equipment capability and repeatability.
• Collaborate with Operations, Process, Quality, and R&D teams on investigations, corrective actions, upgrades, and new technology introductions.

Requirements

• Advanced, higher, or graduate qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 4–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably involving process monitoring, data analysis, and data processing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, working knowledge of Minitab, and basic knowledge of Visual Basic and statistical concepts.
• Basic project management skills covering planning, execution, and reporting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
