Location: Reno, Nevada, United States. Travel of approximately 10% is required. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain the necessary U.S. security clearance and meet ITAR/EAR requirements.
Salary: $108,800–$155,300 USD annual base salary.

What you will do
- Integrate components and subsystems, operate and calibrate measurement instruments, acquire and clean data, and perform statistical and hypothesis-based analysis.
- Develop comprehensive test plans for complex systems, including risk assessments and resource allocation.
- Design and analyze actuators, igniters, pressure vessels, solid rocket motor systems, hot gas valves, and thrusters.
- Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, complex assemblies, technical drawings, and GD&T documentation.
- Perform CFD, structural, dynamic, thermal, tolerance, geometric, and functional-tolerance analyses to validate and optimize designs.
- Coordinate systems engineering and project activities, including requirements analysis, risk management, procurement, vendor evaluation, supplier performance, and technical reporting.
Requirements
- Four to seven years of mechanical engineering experience.
- Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited university; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Advanced skills in testing, instrumentation, data analysis, CAD modeling, technical drafting, and engineering analysis.
- Ability to lead activities and small teams, manage schedules and suppliers, and prepare technical reports and user manuals.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance are required.
- Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time is required.
Nice to have
- Rocket motor design and testing experience.
- Current DoD Top Secret SCI security clearance.
- Master of Science in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
