Associate Field Service Engineer (Flow Cytometry)

Location: Remote from Massachusetts with field-based support for the Boston market; candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Boston area at their own expense. Regular travel to customer sites in the New England and NY Metro regions, with periodic travel to Eastern Canada and other eastern sub-regions.

Target annualized base salary: $55,000–$60,000; paid hourly with overtime eligibility.

What you will do

• Train alongside Field Service Engineers during equipment installations, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Support technical troubleshooting for flow cytometry instrumentation at customer sites and remotely from home.
• Follow service procedures, technical documentation, safety standards, and reporting requirements using Salesforce and Field Service Reports.
• Communicate product quality observations and service concerns to Field Service, Sales, and Field Applications teams.
• Support customer satisfaction through professional communication and timely follow-up.
• Maintain service parts and inventory, complete expense reports, and submit weekly timesheets.

Requirements

• Recent college graduate within the past six months.
• Associate degree or preferably Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, customer service, communication, organization, and follow-up skills.
• Interest in field service, laboratory instrumentation, medical devices, biotechnology, or life science equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle; ability to travel, including overnight travel.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and hold a valid U.S. passport for potential travel to Canada.

Nice to have

• Basic understanding of flow cytometry or related scientific disciplines.
• Interest in developing knowledge of optics, fluidics, electronics, and pneumatics.
