Field Service Engineer (Mass Spectrometry)

Location: Chantilly, Virginia, United States; remote from home while covering the Washington DC metro area. Field work requires travel to internal and external customer sites, with up to 50% overnight travel.

Salary: $38.00–$41.00 per hour, plus eligible bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Install, maintain, repair, and qualify mass spectrometers, HPLC, and capillary electrophoresis instrumentation.
• Resolve assigned customer and technical issues independently at internal and external customer sites.
• Provide customer training and support customer satisfaction for strategic accounts.
• Log service activities, submit expense reports, and manage inventory administration.
• Mentor and develop less experienced field service staff.

Requirements

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in life sciences, chemistry, engineering, or equivalent military electronics or avionics experience.
• Required experience with LCMS, capillary electrophoresis, mass spectrometry, or scientific instrumentation.
• Experience with SCIEX or competing instrumentation and the ability to troubleshoot using problem-solving procedures.
• Ability to meet vendor credentialing requirements.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform standing, walking, climbing, carrying, stooping, kneeling, and bending activities.

• Experience with electrical and electromechanical technology.
